Kherson no longer captivates with its beauty. I think it is impossible to fall in love with it anymore. And it is quite difficult to perceive it in separate parts. It has ceased to be a single, integral "organism". People who have known the city since birth, with pain in their hearts, can only talk about how "well-groomed/cozy" it used to be. For me, it remains an old friend who has experienced many treasured moments with me, who simply cannot be left without support and help. I don't know what can be done to restore its integrity and beauty, and myself to love my home place. I prefer to be honest to my loved ones, so I believe in showing the situation as it is. Without embellishments. I started my story in 1995, I heard a lot about Kherson from the locals, so I formed my image of it from other people's stories. These stories always start and end the same way, namely with a comparison and a conclusion that in the past it was better and more beautiful. Everything that surrounds us now is one big wound that only grows In my project I want to draw attention to this. Photos of recognizable and even iconic objects that fit the project assignment will be taken as a basis. Each building is taken apart into characteristic and sometimes, random (random) parts. Then, through collage, are combined and composed into one coherent architectural object. Thus, it is possible to preserve recognizability and create its own visual image, by which people can identify Kherson. In addition to the collective image in the collage, I want to show the "future", or rather, the loss of pride, value and memory of the people who are the creators of the city - decay and simply emptiness. Such a loss will greatly devalue the culture of Kherson (and perhaps the whole country) and the citizens themselves. And it will happen due to ignorance, inability and unwillingness to cherish and care. This is how the idea of creating an art book came about. It will include a series of "assemblages" - new images, each of which is presented with its own history, pain and decay. To emphasize the viewer's attention to the problem, each collage will end with the same perspective - the passing into oblivion (a blank page with the addition of small graphic elements). The material for the art book was chosen as part of the concept. The basis is fragile paper - tracing paper, which will emphasize the vulnerability and short-lived nature of all man-made things.
